ZEAR was born in 1967 in Argentina and immigrated to the United States at the age of 2, in 1969. He is among a small handful of artists born out side the U.S. to have made a mark in the New York City subway graffiti movement. His career began on the streets of New York in the late 1970s. His career on the subway peaked in the mid 1980s. He made his way into the ranks of prestigious crews like Fame City (FC) and Incredible Bombing Masters (IBM), Fast Breakin Art (FBA), The Cool Five (TC-5) and XMEN. Most of his work was done on the Broadway local and other number lines . He produced many memorable cars with writers like ZAME, WEST, RISK, SERVE, PSYCHO, KAZE and a lot of others.
ZEAR concluded his career on the subway around 1987. In 1992 he moved back to Argentina. Today Argentina has a vibrant graffiti scene of which ZEAR is very much a part and he is enjoying life doing what he loves – which is Graffiti. He has his own HIP HOP and GRAFFITI shop called LIFESTYLE SHOP and is doing a lot of jobs for top brands, helping Graffiti grow and has been blessed to have a son that paints GRAFFITI called BANER5 – so they paint together and as he say’s “there’s no better feeling then painting with your own son…”
